The Chako burd loves her catoons... *is an AvaTard * And not the cruddy cartoons that they have out nowadays... but REAL cartoons. One of my favorites, was Darkwing Duck.

One of my favorite things about Darkwing Duck was his random puns and corny metaphors. Like many of the old school super heros and cartoons, Darkwing was fan of dramatic entrances; they usually involved mysteriously appearing in a cloud of smoke, and almost always included some version of the following speech:

I am the terror that flaps in the night, I am the [noun] that [verb]s your [noun], I am DARKWING DUCK!

Sometimes his metaphors would make sense, but most of the time he‘d drop in words such as these; "I am the bubblegum that sticks in your hair,” or "I am the cat that has kittens on your bed."

Now, phrases like that last one can certainly bring up some pretty interesting images to mind. Either images that'll make you groan, or simply sit beside yourself and laugh because you’ve had it happen to you.

Okay, now to get to the point. My journal challenge is this:


I would like to see you stick your own random nouns and verbs in that phrase and then… illustrate it! I don’t care what you use: photo manipulation, ink, flash cartoons, paint, photoshop, cut ’n paste from old magazines… anything you can possibly think of. Artistic “quality” is not the most important thing on this one… Just make sure it’s funny!

Contest is open to all; dA-members ‘n non-dA members alike. If interested in entering, just note or email me with some sort of digital link to your comedic masterpiece, and I’ll stock-pile it in a special folder for viewing at the end of the contest (no fair cheating off someone else’s idea, no? ) and then we can all vote on the funniest one.


Since everyone said they’d be interested, but were not sure if they had the time, I figured this could be one of those things a person could work on when they were absolutely bored. So in light of that; Due Date for Entries will be Nov. 29th That’s the Sunday after Thanksgiving.

Prizes~

1st Place- A sweatshirt with a character of your choice printed on it. Yep, you heard that right. I’ll draw it, then ink it, ‘n then iron it on and send it to you. Kinda like an early Christmas present!

2nd Place- A 9” x11” Prisma drawing of your choice. Background included. You think it, I’ll doodle it. OR… if there’s a piece in my gallery already done that you think you would like to own, I’ll see about getting it to you. (my finished-art pile’s getting a little high … <_<` )

3rd Place- A black ‘n white inky-doodle of your character of choice. Digitally sent and simplified so that you can color it in the way YOU want it to look.
