Celebrating Salvation by ChakotayDgryphon Celebrating Salvation by ChakotayDgryphon
Whooo~ Finally got back from my Grandparents’ … where boredom abounds. S’okay, it gave me time for my annual Easter greetings for all my friends and watchers here on dA. I procrastinated a lot on doing one, and I even considered drawing a secular “card” and even started sketching it out. But God had other plans for me. So I listened to Him instead of me... So here it is. I hope this is what He wanted. :o This pic is actually somewhat inspired by a B.C. comic that came out back in the late 90’s during Easter that I remember very vividly… it still gives me “Jesus-bumps” when I think about it.

NOTE: My character “Malachi” is NOT supposed to represent Christ in this image!!

Oh no-no-no-no! Not that at all! Malachi is just the same as you 'n me! :) (Well, except that he's furry 'n full of quills... <_< ) Wait, what?! Mallie’s the wrong color you say? There is a REASON why Mallie is in white and he’s dripping red… when there’s obviously not a scratch on ‘im. :greetings: Christian and Easter symbolisms in this piece abound! See if you can spot them all… starting with why Mallie's in white. And whilst you’re looking, and thinking hard about it all, here’s my favorite Easter anthem to help get your spirits movin’ --> [link]

Happy Easter guys! :glomp:

(wait I lied— the little white sparkles were done with a whiteout pen)

A. the blood driping from Malchi, is obviously a representation for the blood shed by Jesus Christ. That washes away all sin and makes us as white as snow, hence the reason he is white.
B. Consistent use of the number three. Three crosses, three tree, and three flowers. Three is a reference to God as a trinity, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
C. You placed in the picture Jesus's tomb, with the stone rolled partially away. A sign that Jesus is indeed still alive!
D. You replaced your characters shadow with the image of a blood red cross. A representation of the shadows that live in men's hearts, but are cast aside when Jesus takes residence therin.
E. The Sunset or sunrise. The eternal sign of death and rebirth, and how we are to be reborn in the Spirit.

.....Did I get all of it?
